Wear It Live It! Trends: Floral blooms
27 February 2019
Floral fashion is on trend this spring/summer and multi award-winning fashion boutique, The Dressing Room, shows you how to embrace the look with style and sophistication. If you love wearing flowery prints then why not incorporate this charming and cheerful look into your home – it will really liven your décor – and is a great example of how fashion can inspire your interiors.
The Dressing Room says: “Embrace all things retro with floral blooms and citrus brights, by clashing different flowery prints and setting them off with a vivid backdrop of clementine orange, lemon curd yellow and cool blue. Fashion a statement outfit by wearing head to toe floral print with a matching top and trousers for a great alternative for an evening or special occasion, showing your playful and artistic side.
“Otherwise for a more day to day approach combine your floral patterns, anchoring them down with one of the key shades within the print. Colour block your outfit with a luxe piece of knitwear and classic coat to harmonise your ensemble. ”

Bright and bold floral prints can really lift the spirits, especially during these grey days. Recreate this feel-good-floral-vibe in your home using textiles such as cushions, rugs, curtains and wallpaper, and then pick out one or two colours from your favourite prints to paint your walls or woodwork and pull the look together. Finish your look by using fresh or faux flowers – which look especially fantastic against a dark dramatic colour – to create a mood-lifting and playful scene.
We love the way award-winning blogger, Emily Murray, of The Pink House, combines block paint colour and floral wallpaper in her living/dining area. The peachy pink wall, painted in Ida from our Brights Colour Capsule, beautifully emphasises the pink flowers in the wallpaper. Using paint and floral wallpaper to compliment each other is also a great way of dividing two areas in one open-plan living space.
