Colour Report 2019: Colour focus on pink
25 January 2019
‘Living Coral’ – a warm and vivacious pink-tinted hue - is the buzzword in interiors thanks to Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019. Pink is stealing the limelight yet again! Here’s how to ‘pink up’ your home thanks to Zoe Anderson from W.A.Green and her wondrous Colour Report 2019.
Part six – Pink represents compassion and love, and was historically used to represent wealth. It can add a punky playful element to interior design or can add warmth and an essence of calm, depending on shade. The narrative can easily sway towards romance and fantasy, so keeping it clean and structured can help to keep the look contemporary as opposed to girly. Adding pink to an interior design scheme can add glamour - just be wary of going too sickly sweet.
The key colour from Painthouse:
Ida Pink - This bright, joyful and fancy-free pink colour is full of 1950’s Americana flair and rose-tinted nostalgia.
I’m really looking forward to experimenting more with pink in 2019 and am currently craving a yellow and pink combination to bring to life both colours. We’ve seen Millennial Pink sweep Instagram over 2018 and I’m now expecting to see it used in more playful ways. Dusty rose colourings work well in bright white spaces, but you can also pair with super dark colours. It makes a very versatile option, which is why I think we’ve seen its popularity surge. Pink is a very welcoming and positive colour that makes it perfect for bedrooms and hallways.
Pink towels add a punky vibe to a monochrome bathroom.
